Spindletop Community Impact Partners hosted a Houston energy community volunteer event. Our Volunteer Army gathered together with members from Houston Energy Industry Associations, such as IADC, API and EWTC, for an impactful morning and giving back to Houston’s at-risk children.
Volunteers met at Undies for Everyone to sort, organize, and pack new underwear into individual packages for distribution to children across the community. Working side by side, volunteers prepared essential items that help children feel comfortable and confident at school and in their daily lives. The event was filled with teamwork, connection, and a shared commitment to making a positive difference through hands-on service.
Many children facing poverty in today’s world also face underwear insecurity. Underwear insecurity is the lack of consistent access to clean, properly fitting and new underwear for individuals, primarily children in crisis or living in poverty. It is a “hidden crisis” where children often wear dirty, damaged or hand-me-down underwear, leading to low self-esteem, poor school attendance and social isolation.
Through the work of our volunteers, 9,590 pairs of underwear were rolled and/or donated, supporting 1,370 children! We extend our sincere appreciation to all who gave their time, energy, and enthusiasm to this initiative. Together, we are helping provide children with essential resources while continuing Spindletop’s commitment to strengthening and supporting our community.
