In Harris County, more children face food insecurity than almost anywhere else in the country. Every single day, over 100,000 preschool-aged children may go without knowing where their next meal will come from.
Kids’ Meals delivers free, healthy lunches to more than 9,000 preschool-aged children every weekday because no child should ever go hungry. These children are too young to benefit from school-based meal programs, but are at such a critical stage of growth and development. On holidays and throughout the summer, services are extended to support their school-aged siblings, nearly doubling the number of meals served.
With the opening of the new Kids’ Meals ExxonMobil Campus, their impact will be able to triple volunteer capacity, store more nutritious food, and deliver thousands of additional meals to children in need. More than a building, this campus is a hub for the Kids’ Meals community. It will be a place to serve, learn, and unite in the fight to end childhood hunger.
