The Children’s Assessment Center (The CAC) provides a safe and supportive haven for sexually abused children and their families, offering the compassionate care and treatment they deserve. Through a highly effective multidisciplinary team approach, The CAC focuses on preventing, assessing, investigating, and prosecuting child sexual abuse cases, while also offering comprehensive treatment. Beyond immediate intervention, The CAC is deeply committed to reducing the long-term impact of unresolved trauma, helping children heal and move forward. Their mission is to make a lasting difference in the lives of those affected by sexual abuse, ensuring they receive the care and support needed to thrive.
For the fifth consecutive year, Spindletop proudly sponsored The CAC’s Back to School Program. Volunteers came together for two key events: first, to pack backpacks with customized school supplies for each grade level, and then to host a special back to school celebration for the children served by The CAC and their siblings. Held at the Houston Museum of Natural Science, the celebration gave the kids a chance to enjoy food, fun, and scavenger hunts throughout the museum before picking up their backpacks. Spindletop volunteers played an essential role in making this event a success, helping to bring a sense of normalcy and excitement to these incredible kids as they prepared for the first day of school.
