The Council on Recovery helps individuals and families whose lives have been affected by alcoholism, drug addiction, and co-occurring mental health disorders. The Council on Recovery partners with schools, faith based organizations and other adolescent service providers in the Houston area to prevent and reduce substance abuse. By equipping youth with the knowledge, skills, resources and support they need to get and remain drug free and serve as a positive influence in the lives of their peers, the Council continues to make a much-needed impact on our youth. Spindletop continues to support the Council’s clinical services for children and adolescents through the Kids Camp, a three-day prevention, support, and recovery program for children ages 7 to 12 from families who are or have struggled with substance abuse.
