The YMCA of Greater Houston continues to fulfill its commitment as a community-centered organization focused on youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. Every day, they create opportunities that help young people grow and thrive, providing high quality programs from early childhood through graduation and beyond.
In June, the Spindletop Army visited the YMCA’s summer enrichment program to host a dynamic STEM Day. Children ages 5 to 11 took part in various science activities that helped bring STEM concepts to life. With support from Spindletop volunteers, students explored topics such as a rocket launch, porosity, and density. After completing the experiments, the children shared what they learned, offering a meaningful look into how the experience sparked curiosity and new understanding.
