As children receive services from The CAC, the staff’s hope is that their processes will provide these families with the tools necessary to help them on their journey to heal from abuse. Part of that journey is instilling normalcy back into their lives. This year, 20 NOV Young Professionals gathered in November to bring happiness and cheer to families at Thanksgiving. The team gathered at the NOV offices to package 36 Thanksgiving baskets for these very special families. The baskets were filled with essential non-perishable Thanksgiving treats, such as mashed potatoes, green beans, cornbread, gravy, cranberry sauce, sweet potatoes, spice cake and more! Additionally, every family received a gift card to purchase turkey, rolls and other important groceries. Volunteers also decorated and wrote Thanksgiving messages to all the families. The following day, members of the YP group had the opportunity to see the joy and gratitude of these families when they met at The CAC to distribute all the goodies!
