In 2018, Spindletop launched a new initiative to engage rising leaders in the energy industry in its mission. The Spindletop Management Committee (SMC), formerly known as the Emerging Leader Steering Committee, was established to bring together rising energy leaders in an effort to create a volunteer program where individuals from across the industry could unite in service to help Spindletop’s non-profit partners.

The SMC has played a crucial role over the past six years in building a thriving volunteer program. Today, the Spindletop Army boasts more than 600 members from every generation of the industry. The Management Committee has dedicated countless hours to organizing a wide range of service projects throughout the year. From hosting STEM Days to revitalizing school campuses with gardening projects, or distributing beds to children who would otherwise be sleeping on the floor, these volunteers share a deep passion for making a difference in the lives of Houston’s at-risk children. Take a look at the incredible work our volunteers have done this year to bring hope and joy to these special kids!
