Gratitude, Growth, and Impact: A Year-End Message from Our Executive Director

Dear Friends, With another year in the books, I cherish how Spindletop has grown in making its imprint on our community’s most vulnerable population – children. Dear Friends,

With another year in the books, I cherish how Spindletop has grown in making its imprint on our community’s most vulnerable population – children. In today’s world, children of all walks of life face unique challenges that can affect their overall well-being; however, when you add in the barrier of living in poverty and in underserved areas, a child has an even harder time reaching their full potential. Spindletop is unwavering in its efforts to enhance the lives of Houston’s at-risk youth, which would not be possible without the support of the energy industry.

Every child deserves to pursue his or her dreams and have the opportunities available to make this a reality. At Spindletop, we focus on breaking down barriers to success by providing the proper resources children need to thrive. We work diligently each year to identify promising and proven programs where philanthropy and engaged volunteers lead to educating, empowering, protecting and nurturing these very special kids. The work of our community partners is extraordinary; however, what is equally inspiring is seeing the men and women of energy join forces to help Spindletop meet these ever-growing needs.

I hope you have enjoyed reading through the pages of this brochure and learning more about the positive changes Spindletop is making in the greater Houston community. Together with our Board of Directors, Management Committee, and the support of the energy industry, Spindletop is answering the call of Houston’s at-risk children and positively changing the trajectory of their lives and that of their families.

There is no greater gift than to see a smile on a child’s face, especially when you know they feel cared for and nourished. Each of you make that possible, and we cannot thank you enough for choosing to support Spindletop’s efforts and your willingness to help – thank you! I wish you a very healthy and happy 2025.

With deepest appreciation,

Lia Vallone
