Spindletop was founded with an invitational golf tournament in 1966, and it continues to be the world’s largest energy industry charitable golf tournament. The two-day Tournament is held every Spring at Memorial Park Golf Course and is organized by the Spindletop Golf Ambassadors, who spend countless hours raising significant funds to support Houston’s at-risk children all the while bringing together executives from across the energy industry to participate and enjoy the fellowship of each day.
To kick-off the Tournament, all golfers were invited to the Celebration party, which took place the night before the Tournament at The Houstonian Hotel, Club & Spa. Participants and their spouses gathered for an evening of merriment as all enjoyed dinner and the musical styles of The Guzzlers. One lucky golfer, TJ Tijerina of FCCU, won the evening’s drawing – two first class tickets to anywhere in the world from United Airlines.
