Spindletop Iced Sugar Cookies

For Cookies:
1 cup sugar
1 cup Crisco
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla
3 cups flour

For Icing:
1 box powdered sugar
½ teaspoon vanilla
Drops of milk
Food coloring
Sprinkles

Cookies:
Cream sugar, Crisco and egg together. Cream in vanilla. Add salt and flour, 1 cup at a time. Roll and cut into any shape. Cook 10-12 minutes at 350°. Cool and add icing.

Icing:
Mix sugar and just enough milk to make a thick paste. Add vanilla and mix well. This can be divided into several bowls and food coloring added to make different colors. Ice sugar cookies. Decorate with sprinkles. Let icing dry on cookies. They will be glazed, and the icing will be hard. Enjoy!
