As Be an Angel Fund, Inc. (BAA) celebrated its 30th anniversary of service to aid children with multiple disabilities, Spindletop Charities, Inc. was recognized for supporting its mission for the past 29 years. During the 2017 Angel Awards Dinner, held on April 28, 2017, the Be An Angel, Inc. Impact Community Award was presented to Spindletop. Receiving the award on behalf of Spindletop was Constance White pictured at left.
BAA helps children and their families, by providing specialized programs, services, and equipment to improve their quality of life. Spindletop has supported BAA’s barrier free playgrounds, which allows children with disabilities for increased physical activity and play alongside able-bodied peers. There is even a specially designed Spindletop derrick built as a component of a barrier free playground. Spindletop has funded communication devices as well as motor skills therapy equipment. In recent years, Spindletop has funded BAA’s Respite Care Program, allowing caregivers and families to have a few hours of personal time off during the day while their special needs children are well cared for at Be An Angel, Inc.
